Géraldine Lacourte comes from two long-established Champagne families — the Lacourtes and the Godbillons — who spent generations growing grapes and selling their harvest to the grandes maisons. Her grandparents were the first to bottle their own Champagne in 1947, and her parents later established the Lacourte-Godbillon name in 1968. Their philosophy was simple and unwavering: exceptional Champagne begins with exceptional vineyard work, a belief that shaped the identity and reputation of the estate.
In 2006, Géraldine and her husband, Richard Desvignes, left their corporate careers to return to Écueil and take over the family domaine. Under their leadership, the estate has evolved with a focus on precision, sustainability, and respect for their Premier Cru terroir — earning organic certification in 2020 and biodynamic certification in 2022. Today, Géraldine continues to carry forward nearly a century of family dedication, guiding Lacourte-Godbillon with the same integrity and craftsmanship instilled by generations before her.
