Women shaping Argentine wine: meet Belén Rodríguez of La Linda

Behind every wine is someone making decisions: when to harvest, how to capture the character of the grapes and what kind of experience to create in the glass. At La Linda, that person is María Belén Rodríguez, a winemaker bringing curiosity, technical expertise and a fresh perspective to one of Argentina’s historic wine houses.

Her approach starts with something wonderfully relatable: making the kinds of wines she enjoys drinking herself. Fresh, expressive and smooth, with interesting aromas and a style that feels at home around the dinner table.

From Luján de Cuyo to leading La Linda

Belén grew up in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, surrounded by vineyards and wineries. Wine was part of the landscape of her childhood, and it would become the focus of her studies and career.

In 2019, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, focusing on chemistry and winery operations. That same year, she joined Bodega Luigi Bosca’s harvest team as a technician winemaker.

Her development continued with a winemaking degree in 2021 and work exploring small experimental batches, new grape varieties and potential new wines. These trials offered a space to ask questions, test ideas and understand how different choices influence the finished wine.

She went on to become the youngest winemaker to lead La Linda, taking on the challenge of developing the collection while maintaining its identity.

Freshness with personality

La Linda draws on the expertise of Luigi Bosca, the Mendoza winery founded in 1901. Belén brings her own perspective to that heritage, with a focus on clear fruit expression, freshness and wines that are enjoyable without needing a special occasion.

Approachable doesn’t have to mean simple. A wine can be lively and easy to enjoy while still offering layers of aroma, texture and character. That balance is central to Belén’s vision for La Linda.

Her own words capture the feeling she wants to create: “Relaxed enjoyment.”

As a woman leading the range, Belén also puts a face to the female talent shaping Argentine wine. Getting to know her work is a chance to look beyond the label and discover the knowledge, experimentation and personal taste behind it.

Discover La Linda through three wines

The La Linda selection at Artisan Malbec offers three ways to explore this fresh, expressive approach, from a classic Argentine red to Cabernet Sauvignon and a lively rosé.

La Linda Malbec 2024

For many wine lovers, Malbec is the natural starting point for Argentina. La Linda’s 2024 brings red-fruit aromas, a delicate floral note and a rounded, smooth texture. Soft tannins and a lingering finish make it an inviting introduction to the range.

Try it with: grilled steak, roasted vegetables or a comforting plate of mushroom pasta.

La Linda Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Argentina has plenty to offer beyond Malbec. Made with grapes from Maipú, Mendoza, this Cabernet Sauvignon combines fruit and spice with fine, firm tannins that give the wine structure. It’s juicy and full-bodied, while retaining La Linda’s approachable character. For those who enjoy a little more firmness in their reds, it offers another side of the collection.

Try it with: barbecued beef, roast lamb or lamb curry.

La Linda Rosé Malbec 2025

Malbec takes on a different expression in this pale pink rosé. Fresh strawberry and cherry aromas meet a lively palate, making it a refreshing way to explore Argentina’s signature grape. It’s a lovely choice for an alfresco lunch or as an aperitif before sitting down to eat.

Try it with: sushi, fresh salads or grilled chicken.

Whether you’re drawn to a smooth Malbec, a structured Cabernet or a fresh rosé, there’s a delicious introduction to her work waiting in the glass.
